What a joy it is to have babies return as big siblings! Ella had her newborn photos captured at 21 days old.
We photographed big sister Emily only last year for her newborn photos so I was a little nervous to have such a young big sibling! Toddlers under 2.5 years old are always so unpredictable when they become siblings, sometimes they are not fazed at all and other times it is full-blown meltdowns! They are still so little so it can be hard on them.
Emily was not quite walking just yet so it did help with keeping her in one spot a bit and overall she was really good! We got more sibling photos than I hoped for and they made her mum so happy. Sibling photos are so important to all our clients, it is often the one photo they want more than any other so it is something I try and spend a bit of extra time getting right.
Dad unfortunately couldn’t get out of work this time around so we had grandma fill in which I think is always so special! I love including grandparents in sessions, they are just the best!
Baby Ella was such a dream baby to photograph and didn’t make a peep during her session and even at 21 days she went through all my poses beautifully.

Behind the shoot
We went with creams and whites in a relaxed studio session. Natural and cosy the images really highlight the authentic connection and love of the family. Mum wanted images to compliment her older baby’s photos we did last year so we styled organic baby portraits that are focused on the baby and their natural perfection capture baby Ella in a style that will be beautiful forever.
